Bathroom Makeover. One Room Challenge Spring 2021-Week 3

Week 3 is here and my progress this week was minimal. There is something about week 3 that is always challenging for me, this time around it is due to not having received all orders and problems with the ones I did get on time.

I do however have a final verdict on the color of the walls and the tile for the floor so I will take it as a win. Thanks to my poll on Instagram, and the comments on last week’s challenge I will go with the blue diamonds on the walls. As for the tile, I will be working with a matte 12”x24” marbled floor and will go from the floor to part of the walls.

There is always something to learn and this week I found out no pressure balance valve or “rough-in valve” is the same. In case you didn’t know, the pressure valve is located behind the handle to turn the water on/off. I had bought a rain shower faucet and when I was reading through the installation instruction I noticed it needed a specific valve, which is not currently installed in our bathroom. So the lesson for this week is if you are not planning to demo the whole shower look for a faucet in the same brand you already have to ensure the valve will work. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a faucet in the brand and budget I need to with a rain shower feature.

Let’s hope for more progress next week, so stay tuned!
